Grand Canyon tour packages: prices, fees and park facts
A few facts change how every package works, starting with the one most first-timers miss: the South Rim and the West Rim are different destinations with different owners and different fees.
South Rim
Grand Canyon National Park (NPS), open year-round. Entrance $35 per vehicle or $20 per person; America the Beautiful passes valid. From January 1, 2026, non-US residents 16+ pay an additional $100 surcharge unless holding a qualifying pass.
West Rim & Skywalk
Grand Canyon West, on Hualapai tribal land. NOT part of the national park: separate admission, and NPS passes are not valid. General admission and the all-access pass with Skywalk are sold by the Hualapai's Grand Canyon Resort Company.
North Rim
Seasonal (roughly mid-May to mid-October) and recovering from the 2025 Dragon Bravo Fire, which destroyed Grand Canyon Lodge. Confirm current access on nps.gov before planning around it; the tours here visit the South and West Rims.

Las Vegas to West Rim ~2 h; Las Vegas to South Rim ~4–4.5 h; Phoenix to South Rim ~3.5–4 h; Sedona ~2 h; Flagstaff ~1.5 h; Williams ~1 h.
Reservations
Grand Canyon National Park does not use timed-entry reservations for day visitors. Tours, the railway and helicopter seats do sell out, especially in summer.
Helicopter landings
Helicopters land below the rim only at Grand Canyon West on Hualapai land. Inside the national park, tourist flights overfly but never land below the rim.

Can I see the Grand Canyon in one day from Las Vegas?
Yes. The West Rim is about two hours from Las Vegas, which is why the coach and helicopter day tours go there. The South Rim is a four-plus-hour drive each way, so South Rim day tours from Vegas run 14 to 18 hours; they are long but doable, and the sunrise-format small-group version breaks the drive with Antelope Canyon and Horseshoe Bend.
Is the West Rim or the South Rim better?
The South Rim is the national park with the deepest, most iconic views, and it is better if the canyon itself is the point of your trip. The West Rim is not in the national park: it is the Hualapai tribe's destination with the Skywalk, and it wins on convenience from Las Vegas. Neither is wrong; they are different trips, which is why every package here states its rim.
How many days do you need at the Grand Canyon?
One full day covers a rim well: viewpoints, a short rim walk, and sunset. To see more than one region, or to add Antelope Canyon, Zion or Monument Valley without brutal drive times, plan two to three days; that is exactly what the 3-day packages package up, with hotels and entrance fees included.
Do I need a reservation to enter Grand Canyon National Park?
No. Grand Canyon National Park does not use a timed-entry reservation system for day visitors; you pay the entrance fee at the gate or with a pass. What does sell out is the tours themselves, railway seats and helicopter slots, especially June through August, so book those ahead.
